If you want a nice retreat in Thailand, you’re at a good place! In this article, I share my stay at a spiritual retreat in Thailand: the Wonderland Healing Center. Located on the lush island of Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand, the Wonderland center offers much more than a classic yoga retreat.
Spiritual retreat in Thailand at Wonderland Healing Center
The Wonderland Healing Center program is updated at the beginning of each week. Therefore, you can check if there are any specific courses that interest you before booking. Classes don’t start before 8 a.m.
Guests are helped to change their lifestyles. They move more with yoga exercises, eat better (vegetarian), unlearn bad habits (smoking?), de-stress, detoxify, get to know themselves better through meditation, and become kind to themselves and others through new friendships and compassion.
Accommodation at Wonderland, Koh Phangan
The Wonderland Healing Center in Thailand is a great place to stay for several days.
You can book stays ranging from a few nights (minimum 3 nights) to a 22-day program. The center offers six-bed dormitories and private double rooms. We opted for the private room and stayed for three nights.
Healthy Day Cards
Even if you don’t have the time or inclination for a full retreat, you can book a “Healthy Day” pass at Wonderland Healing Center. During this day, you can participate in any yoga, Pilates, or meditation session, have two vegan meals, and take as many naps as you like in the hammock.
Yoga classes and self-service activities vary weekly, so find out in advance if you’d like to try a particular class. Whether you’re backpacking or on a luxury vacation, a healthy day is a great way to refresh and relax.

Courses at Wonderland Healing Center
Most courses at Wonderland are aimed at beginners and intermediate levels. But unless you’re an advanced yogi, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to progress your practice.
Wonderland Healing Center is not just about yoga. Meditation is just as important, and usually two sessions a day. At Wonderland, meditation sessions range from sound healing, musical meditation, and Yoga Nidra to simple guided meditation practices.
But the evening sessions were special. Although each had a different focus and facilitator, I found that each made an impact in its own way. There was the “inner dance,” a combination of energy work and sound healing that was an intense experience.
Vegan food at Wonderland
The vegan food at Wonderland Healing Center is incredibly good. The meals were always fresh, nourishing, and colorful during my stay. Nothing had prepared me for the delicious banana pancakes served every morning for breakfast. I guarantee you’ll find something to your liking!
At lunchtime, the buffet of salads and hot dishes is always impressive. Bowls of crunchy bean sprouts, red cabbage, and leafy greens sat alongside simmering Thai curry and nutritious stir-fries.
I’m not vegan, and I was a bit scared at the thought of no meat, but I wasn’t disappointed. It was delicious!
Conclusion
For my first experience, I have to say I’m satisfied. The courses are varied and high-quality, the environment is soothing and well-maintained, the completely vegan food is delicious, and the staff is professional and friendly. My visit was a memorable interlude.
You can go there with your eyes closed! Please let me know in the comments how your experience went in the comments. 🙂
